Somer is a mother of two children, 6 and 3 years old. She is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, and has been in the health and fitness industry for the past 20 years. After becoming pregnant with her second child she realized the lack of support and education for postpartum moms dealing with core and pelvic floor issues. Somer is both a cesarean section mom, and vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) mom. Female Functional Fitness was made to support, advocate and help moms who may be dealing with issues such as back pain, hip pain, diastasis recti, pelvic floor dysfunction, scar tissue management, overall corrective movements, and advocacy and support for birth and after.
